Walker's Baptism!

Today was a BIG day for Walker and a very happy one for us all! Walker was baptized this afternoon! Walker received Christ in his heart when he was 4 and has been asking us off and on about getting baptized. We wanted to make sure that he really understood what baptism is all about and why it is an important step in his walk with Christ. He fully understands and is so excited to be able to let everyone know that he is a Christian and that he has Jesus in his heart! Our church has what they call a Family Birthday Celebration for kids to be baptized. It is a lot of fun, they start with praise music and then they show a short video of each child followed by their baptism. I think there were 31 baptized today, it is so awesome to watch these precious children! We are so thankful for the decision that Walker has made and know that God has big plans for his life. We had a lot of family and friends who were able to join us today to celebrate, some of which drove a long way to get there!! We love each one of you and it means so much to have had you all there, thank you!

My Happy Birthday!

Well...I turned the big 36 on Tuesday! It seems like yesterday that I couldn't believe I was turning 30. I had a great birthday! I was able to have lunch with my Mom and (her) John and then (my) John surprised me by coming home early from work with a dozen roses and stayed with the kids while I went to get my nails done! We had small group last night which was a great group of friends to be with on my special day. Tonight we went out to eat pizza to celebrate. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and two awesome boys! They made a special birthday book for me with pictures that they both drew and must have told me a hundred times between yesterday and today Happy Birthday and I Love You!

Thank you so much to all my sweet family and friends for calls, cards, etc....I am truly truly blessed to have you all in my life!

Off the birthday subject....something that Walker said as we were eating tonight was "there are a lot of parables in the Bible" and Michael said, "what's a parable?". Walker said, "it's an earthly story with a heavenly meaning". I thought that was pretty cool!

My Buddy!

Boy, I sure am going to miss hanging out with my little buddy when he has to go to school everyday next year! Michael is home with me all day on Monday and Friday and although he gets bored sometimes I really love having the time with him!

Walker had a game today and the other team was really good (can you say stacked?, just kidding)! The game was definitely going much better for the other team than it was for us but it didn't matter to the kids, they were having a blast anyway! Walker came over to me at the fence toward the end of the game and said "I think the game is going really good so far, don't you?", and that's the way it should be!

After the game the boys (including John) gathered a bunch of buttercups for me for an early birthday surprise! I pray they always love their Mommy as much as they do now!

Busy Weekend!

Well.....this is the end of another busy weekend here. The weather has been beautiful, it started out questionable on Saturday (overcast and pretty cool). Fortunately the early morning rain stopped in time for Walker to play his baseball game at 9:00. We have already had 2 games and I think a couple of practices rained out this season. Walker's team is the Tigers and he is really having fun playing. Michael does really well hanging out and watching the game with me....actually all he did this time was play games on John's phone! John enjoys helping out as an "unofficial" assistant coach. After the game I took Walker to a birthday party for one of his classmates. The party was an Army themed one and of course Walker went in full camo complete with gun. Ever since the party Walker is back into wanting to be an Army man when he grows up and keeps wanting to go to goarmy.com which I will admit is a pretty cool site, check it out if you have a boy into the Army thing. While Walker and I were gone Michael got to hang out with Daddy and he loves it when he has him all to himself! The afternoon was spent planting flowers....I love spring! Sunday was busy with church and then more yard work in the afternoon. Walker and Michael did manage to get about an hour of playing Army outside before they came to meet me at church.

P.S. This would be the result of the not-so-safe bicycle ramp! Walker is really tough!

Lego's & Stunt Shows

Well, today was the most beautiful day I think we have had this spring! We spent a lot of time outside playing today after Walker got home from school.

When Michael got home from school he immediately got busy playing with his Lego's. This is one of his favorite past times these days, he can sit for a long time and be fully entertained with them! He is very creative!

This is what stunt man Walker and his buddy Hollis were up to after school! They had a great time jumping this obviously not-so-safe ramp. Of course when John got home we heard the story of how Uncle Jeff almost ruptured his spleen attempting this same thing when he was little, I wasn't concerned at all....until now, thanks John! :)

Takin' the Plunge

Well...I have enjoyed reading everyone else's blogs long enough to finally take the plunge! This is my way, like many others, of recording some of the happenings of our lives since so often I say "I need to write that down" and then never do it and apparently scrapbooking isn't working out so well for me since I only have the first 6 months of Walker's life done and he is now 6! I hope that this will become an easy way for me to keep some memories alive for Walker and Michael that they might otherwise forget about! We just finished our Spring Break last week and since this is my first blog I will do a quick recap.

We stayed in town and enjoyed some down time hanging out with each other and friends. On Monday I took Michael to the Zoo with our friends Mrs. Kelly, Ty, Micah and Ali. This was the first time that Michael had been to the zoo when he was old enough to actually enjoy it...and he did! While we were at the zoo Walker spent the day hanging out with his friend Cole enjoying his favorite restaurant (Chick Fil A), bowling and playing Wii for the first time. Unfortunately, on Wednesday my brother (Chad) and I had to drive to Montgomery, AL for the funeral of my great Uncle Harold, he was a great man and will be missed, but seen again! The upside was that the boys got to hang out with Grandma and Gramps while we were gone.

On Thursday we went to hang out with our friends Wendy, Jessie and Cole at their families farm up in Jefferson, GA. We had a blast riding around the property on the Gators and fishing in the lake. I did catch a fish, you might not be able to see it....but it's there! Friday was very hot here and we spent it outside playing. It was hard for Walker to go back to school today (Michael goes back tomorrow) but at the end of it he said it was good.
