Happy 60th Grandma & Gramps!

On Sunday afternoon after church we met Grandma and Gramps for lunch to celebrate their 60th Birthdays! Their B-days are 3 weeks apart. We also had to get the kids back, they had been at their house all weekend as their last "hurrah" before going back to school. On Friday night they let them stay up as late as they wanted.....Michael made it to 11:30 and Walker made it to 12:30!! Walker said they get to make up their own bedtime rules at Grandma's, I guess that's what the Grandparents house is for right!?! :)We had a great visit at lunch. Chad and Tammy were there and I also surprised Mom by having one of her best friends show up. We pitched in for a GPS for Mom and a Golf GPS for John. They both had a really good day. Oh, if you ever want a GPS....get a Garmin not a TomTom, it's way cooler (I know that is horrible english)!

Guess who went swimming!?!

A couple of days ago we spent the day at a friends pool and she was kind enough to let me bring Storm to hang out too! Leah has a dog named Sadie and at first Storm didn't know what to make of her trying to play but by the end of the day they were big buds! Storm got in the water a couple of times, not for long, but she seemed to enjoy it. She was worn out after playing so hard! I was making fun of myself for taking pictures of the dog's first swim.....she's like my new baby! :)

Oh the kids (and big kids) had a lot of fun too!

Attitude!

Tonight we had a Back to School Bash at school and before we left Michael had an "unauthorized" nap which can be either good or bad. Tonight it was bad! He woke up very grumpy and ended up kicking Walker for something and then proceeded to cry most of the way to school. When we got out of the car his new teacher (Mrs. White) was walking across the parking lot and smiled and waved. Well, he wouldn't even smile, say "Hi" or even wave back at her. I told him that he needed to quit being grumpy and to be kind, polite, friendly, etc. He continued to have an attitude most of the evening which of course is very frustrating and although I tried to correct him, you never know how much they are hearing or caring about for that matter. As we were getting in the bed, right before we prayed, he said, "I'm sorry for having a bad attitude tonight at Bridgeway, I know I'm going to love Mrs. White". It was so sweet and I told him how grown up he was for apologizing. I guess they do listen sometimes. :)

Grace.....I couldn't live without it!

At church on Sunday Louie Giglio (founder of Passion Conferences) preached about grace and it was amazing. He told a story about a girl named Ashley and if you haven't heard it it is definitely worth your time!
