Off to India

John leaves today for India for 9 days! This is the longest span of time that we have been without him and the kids are a little sad. I wanted to share the story that Walker wrote at school today about his Daddy going to India. It is so sweet.....it made me cry (surprise, surprise)! You will probably need to click on the pictures to actually be able to read them.

Totally different subject but Michael's class has this bear (Button Bear) that they are taking turns taking home for the night. They have to draw a picture of what they did together and send it in for a book his teacher is making about their adventures. Michael and Button Bear worked on a puzzle together.

Derby Race!

Walker had his first Cub Scout Pinewood Derby race today. Michael got to participate too in the siblings category. The boys did a great job making their cars with John and had fun picking out the designs and painting them. I think things like this are so fun b/c they create great memories of special time with Dad (John still has his Derby car he made when he was little). Walker won first in show for his group for car design and also came in second place for time. Michael came in second for time and only missed 1st place by .003 seconds in his group - definitely a photo finish!

The Day After

So, we survived the night! Most of the boys were out by 11 or 11:30 but we did have 2 hang in there watching movies until almost 2am!! They were up and ready for more at 6:30am! I fed them more sugar for breakfast....donuts and muffins. I did throw in a little fruit! The guys had fun playing until parents starting coming around 9:00. For having 12 boys together, they really did a great job of getting along. I know Walker and Michael had a blast. However I will say that I never realized how stinky a group of so many boys could be......honestly the smells were pretty bad!!!!! The house is all back together now and it seems really quiet tonight! :)Oh, Storm was pretty exhausted after all the excitement too. She slept like a queen tonight (she's not normally allowed on the furniture)!

Walker's Sleepover!

So tonight is Walker's big spend the night Birthday party!!! We have 10 of his friends here for the night (12 total including Walker and Michael)! Everyone thinks I'm crazy but I figure it's just one night and it is hopefully going to make fun memories! They are doing really great. The boys came over around 4:30 this afternoon and began playing hard. We had pizza, roasted marshmallows, ate brownie cake, watched movies and ate popcorn and M&M's. This is a party!!! Here are some pictures of some of what they have been up to. Most of them are sleeping now. :)

Doggie Bedtime Story!

Reptile Man!

This past Monday the Reptile Man came to the boys school. He didn't come until the afternoon and since Michael gets out at noon I decided to take him to lunch and then we went back to see the show. It was a lot of fun for the kids to be able to see and hear about all the reptiles. Here are some pics that they enjoyed. The very last thing they brought out was a giant snake named Banana Boys Brother. They had some of the teachers come up and hold him and then gave all the kids a chance to walk by and pet him. It was really cool!
